The Desk Job
Model a desk based on the Reference Image provided. I took the following steps to model the desk: -I conceptualized the design task as a mirroring or duplicating task, where the left side of the desk is a laterally inverted form of the right side. -With this conceptual idea in mind, I worked towards modeling one half completely and further mirroring the completed half when done. - I first created a cube polygon primitive (appropriately scaled with sufficient subdivisions) for the top table like surface. -I constantly extruded and scaled faces to match the shape of the desk in the reference image. More specifically, I started from the table top surface and went down towards the drawer and legs in that order. -I Inserted edge loops wherever I had to create edges which allowed me to build on geometry by further extrusion and scaling. -I scaled alternate faces on the legs to create a ridge like appearance. -I also used the add divisions tool to subdivide the base of the drawer face. - I added faces using the ad divisions and further used the multi cut tool to create the ridges in all the legs of the desk. -Once I was done with the left side of desk, I mirrored this one object and combined the duplicate object as a result to form one complete desk.
