No More Feels for High Heels :P
Model a High heel shoe based on the reference image provided using NURBS only. The reference image is shown below To model the shoe I took the following steps: -First I created a Curve using an EP curve tool - I closed the curve and beveled the edges to create a smooth like beveled appearance with some slight thickness. - After this I lofted this curve on another curve which created a planar surface for the sole - I then created the back covering surface for the 'Achilles heel tendon' using multiple curves shaped as arcs places in a somewhat concentric fashion from bottom to top. -These curves differed in sizes. The one in the bottom was the largest followed by smaller ones. This was done until reach the top of the back tendon covering surface was reached. i used five curves for this. -Next I modeled the front strap using curves, lofting and beveling. I rotated the surfaces and moved around the vertices to make it look like the front strap of the shoe that covers the toe bones. -In a similar fashion, I made use of curves, lofting and beveling to create the two feet straps following which i Moved around vertices to adjust for one strap being on top of the other. This was the most time consuming part of the assignment. -Then I used NURBS circles and curves in a concentric fashion to create the heel. the concentric circles were from bottom to top and the last few were larger in size to account for the larger base that is attached to the shoe sole (outside part). -I made use of symmetry for the straps and the curves. -Finally, using the hypershade editor, I created lambert colors and applied them to lofted, planar and beveled surfaces to give the shoe its color.
